THE ORANGE WALK/RIDE 3rd APRIL 2009
...from the heart
--------------o0o-------------
INTRODUCTION
On June 1, 2008, we completed the first Orange Walk, after walking 1,700km (over 1,000 miles) in 57 days. Maybe it wasn’t a ‘great’ accomplishment in terms of solving all of the world’s problems, but it was an unforgettable memory for each member of our team. From the many things we saw during the walk (the tortured lives, the people, beautiful landscapes, regions, etc), we all have memories that will last lifetimes.Every member of our team gave 100% and gave their best to walk the walk for those we were representing along the way. We are so thankful to our friends and the people who supported us to make Orange Walk 2008 the success that it was. With that said, there are still many tasks left undone, or just started. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE A CHANGE! Our walks are difficult, but at least we can see an end to our jouney. The many people who suffer each and every day from the effects of Agent Orange have no such finish line. The children have--and never have had--any choices. Their entire lives are long, harsh and painful trips that only end when they die. In their eyes we see pain and loss and a total absense of hope. WE CAN CHANGE THAT! Our hope for tomorrow is to alert the world that these kids exist; they are reaching out to all of us with their tiny twisted limbs. Join with the Orange Walk/ Ride 2009 team and help us continue waking up the world. The Agent Orange problem in Vietnam affects kids and people. They are people...human beings...not just Vietnamese. They belong to each and every one of us. Join with us; tell your friends about Agent Orange and the people who suffer. This Orange Walk/Ride is from the heart for ALL forgotten people.
HOW TO WALK THIS WALK
The primary reason the team decided to use motorbikes rather than walk this year is because we really want to meet the families who are affected by Agent Orange. Last year, we met many such families, but along Highway One. This year, we will expand that territory four times by using our motorbikes. We also feel that in using motorbikes, we hope to all save time, money and energy. Additionally, this should afford us more opportunities to work with the victims of Agent Orange. We will be traveling through 44 provinces, as well as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang in Vietnam; the total distance that we will be traveling is more than 7,200kms (4,400miles) and the estimated duration of the trip will be 64 days. Beside the walk we are organizing here, there will be additional walks taking place in select cities around the world in several different countries. Proceeds from those walks will also be given entirely to the families in Vietnam affected by Agent Orange.

OUR RESPONSIBILITIES
100% of the money and the items that you donate will be receipted and brought to the victims of Agent Orange. We prefer to help the people who sincerely need the help and who may normally “fall through the cracks,” for whatever the reason.
We will try our best to update the information about the walk as much as we can on our websites-
www.the-orange-walk.com or www.orangecarers.com and on our blogs.
It will depend on how often we can locate an internet connection during the walk. We have an “expert” blogger/photographer that will be recording all of our ups and downs and invite others to do the same while they join us for a great cause!
We will total the money and the items that are donated and update how we send/bring that to the victims of Agent Orange.
We pledge total accountability.
